289 Coupe
The 289 Coupe is the ultimate evolution of the leaf spring chassis car. The trellis style backbone stiffing tubes provide a big torsional rigidity improvement over the original Roadster ladder style chassis. The stiffer chassis gives the 289 Coupe more consistent handling over the roadster in racing. The Coupe is also aerodynamically superior to the 289 Roadster. With the full length belly pan and the Kamm style tail the Coupe slices much more cleanly through the air.
